The area is renowned for its long white sandy beaches that stretch for miles and miles. Most have been awarded Blue Flag status and are cleaned scrupulously in the summer months. Most beaches offer free car parks, but in peak season, these fill up fast, so it is worth getting there as early as possible.

Valras Plage
Valras Plage is a family beach resort situated 11km from Béziers. The 4km long beach has modern facilities, particularly in terms of safety. To the eastern end, the fauna, flora and dunes are protected by the coastal conservation organisation. There is a lovely wooden children’s playground on the beach. The delightful lowrise seaside town that accompanies the beach is charming, with numerous cafes and restaurants serving excellent seafood.

Narbonne Plage
Narbonne Plage is located 15 km from the town centre of Narbonne. It has been continually awarded Blue Flag status for almost 20 years. The drive from Narbonne town to Narbonne beach is spectacular - passing through the Massif of La Clape (a beautiful rolling landscape of pine forest, vineyards and high hills)

Cap d’Agde
Cap d’Agde is reputed to be the new St Tropez, a haunt of the rich and famous. It is a cosmopolitan resort, close to the neighbouring old town of Agde. The beach at the “centre nautique” is fantastic. Watersport opportunities are vast at Cap d’Agde.

Gruissan
Gruissan is a beautiful town with a lovely marina. Its beach, “Plage des chalets” is completely uncommercialised. It is a vast stretch of sand, ideal if you want a day away from it all.
