The Languedoc enjoys an incredibly mild winter, with dazzling blue skies and daytime temperatures sometimes reaching in excess of 20c, so a few hours on the beach is a realistic activity and a great thing to do on Christmas Eve.

On the other hand, perhaps you'd rather head for the alpine resorts in the Pyrenées, which are just a couple of hour's drive away and the perfect place to have some fun in the snow and enjoy some 'vin chaud' or hot chocolate!
